Halloween Party

The students are very excited for Monday! This week the students should have brought home a note with a list of assigned items for each student to bring to school for 1 P.M. on Monday. We will enjoy these snacks after our Halloween Parade around the school at 1:15 P.M., which everyone is welcome to attend. The majority of the class voted on watching a movie in the afternoon. It should be a great day - full of monster decorations made by our very own class! Check back for pictures of the event on our blog!

Spelling

The spelling page has been updated with the new words students got yesterday. There has been a change to the way things will go for the rest of the year. Students will be tested on their list every two weeks (rather than every week). This way we can allow for more time to work with the words during the two week period. There will also be a larger test once a month, to review words from the entire year.

Book fair

Tomorrow is the last day to visit the book fair in the library at Yorkdale.

Spelling and Guided Reading for October 11-14

There will be no spelling words or tests this week as it is a short week. I have decided instead to focus more on our Guided Reading program and how we can give the students who need more reading practice that opportunity.
